Big Apple
Sighthound
Association

The Big Apple Sighthound Association, or BASHA, was founded in late 2001 by a group of sighthound fanciers from the metropolitan New York area.

BASHA's goal is to promote the sport of lure-coursing in New York City and on Long Island.

BASHA currently runs lure-coursing tests and trials under the auspices of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA).

Our sister club, BARS (Big Apple Racing Society) runs straight-racing events. Its signature event is its "Remember in November" race meets in .. you guessed it ... November.

Many BASHA members are involved in conformation, agility, obedience and tracking, and many of our dogs are dual titled -- champions on the bench and in the field. But we welcome any sighthound whose owners are interested in exploring lure-coursing.

Greyhounds, intent on the lure!
